seasonal RECIPES for those who love to EAT
Prep. Time: 5 minutes (overnight for ice cubes)
Cook Time: 0 minutes
1 (29oz.) can Tomato puree
1/2 tsp. Horseradish paste
3 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 tsp. Coarse ground black pepper
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tbsp. A-1 steak sauce
1 tsp. Smoked paprika
1/2 tbsp. Your favorite hot sauce
12 oz. Vodka
Vegetable garnishes (pickled green beans, olives, celery)
Sriracha ice cubes (See note in recipe)
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine tomato puree, horseradish, Old Bay, course ground pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and A-1 steak sauce. Whisk until well mixed.
2. Let Bloody Mary mix sit for 10 minutes and taste. Adjust seasonings if desired. [Note: The mix will look a little thick – that’s normal. It will thin out when you add ice and vodka.]
3. Fill four pint glasses or Mason jars half-full with ice cubes (if you want extra spice, try the Sriracha cubes, below. Divide vodka and mix evenly among all four glasses.
4. Garnish with veggies, citrus wedges, bacon or whatever else you like and enjoy!
Note: To make Sriracha Ice Cubes, mix 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce with about 2 cups of water and place in an ice cube tray. Freeze overnight, then use.
I’ve noticed most folks are either firmly on the Mimosa train or firmly on the Bloody Mary train when it comes to their brunch cocktail of choice. If you’re up for a little zip in your morning sip, this Bloody Mary Mix might just be your ticket. You can make the mix ahead and store it in an airtight container in the fridge (large Mason jars are great!) and feel free to customize with your favorite garnishes of choice – bacon would be awesome.
